Embedded Systems Engineering Leader - Boston, MA

This pioneer of Audio/Speaker Technology medium-sized company is seeking an Embedded Systems Engineering Leader to guide and lead embedded systems (low-level software/firmware) development teams as they create future smart speaker and award-winning products. The Embedded Systems Engineering Leader will lead the low-level embedded efforts from product concept, architecture, and systems integration.

This role will serve as the technical leader of sub-systems, as well as the technical representative of the development team to the rest of the company. You will guide, align and communicate team decisions, mitigate risks, and drive technical issues to resolution.

Responsibilities:

As a technical leader, you will be responsible for the development team bringing new products to market.
Foster a high performing cross-functional Product Development team through charismatic and energetic leadership.
Keep the team on track, which means ensuring they are developing the right product, within all the established program boundaries (features, cost, schedule, quality, etc.)
Responsible for regular reporting on the status of your program, and ensuring that the team is fully aligned with the current direction and goals.

Qualifications:

BS/MS/Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent education
8+ years of experience in low-level/embedded product development
Expert in C/C++ programing/debugging experience in a Linux environment.
Demonstrated success leading multi-disciplinary technical development teams
Deep knowledge of firmware/hardware development best practices in two or more of the following areas: (Digital and analog electronics, radio and antenna design, transducer and acoustic system engineering, embedded firmware development, video processing, and industrial design).
Willingness to travel within the US and Asia (sometimes with little notice) based on need in the product development cycle.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
