Principal RFIC Design Architect

This exciting Silicon Valley-based Internet of Things (IoT) start-up is seeking a Principal Design Architect. The Architect will be responsible for performing transistor-level RFIC design for state-of-the-art RF power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, RF PLLs, filters and switches for 2.5 – 5GHz WLAN radio transceiver applications. This role will have the following responsibilities: 

  • Work with hardware design teams to define RFIC product requirements and create and execute product development plans including  design, simulation, layout, and verification testing.
  • Interface with cross-functional hardware and system teams to bring products from conception to full production release.
  • Interface with Product Marketing and Applications Engineering throughout the product development lifecycle with product prototypes and samples, data and design summaries, and application circuit recommendations.


  • MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years of RFIC design experience.
  • Proven experience in RFIC CMOS designs.
  • Keen and solid RF CMOS design experience in the one of the following domains: RF blocks used in transmitters and receivers; Front- end (LNA, mixers, PA drivers, PAs); PLLs & Frequency Synthesizers; or Transceivers baseband blocks (filters, VGA, ADCs & DACs).
  • Must be a self-starter, has passion for his/her work, and be able to work well in a team of RFIC design engineers.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
