Hardware Engineering Product Leader - Boston, MA

This pioneer of Wireless/Speaker Technology medium-sized company is seeking a Hardware Engineering Product Leader to guide and lead cross-functional product development teams as they create future smart speaker and award-winning products. The Hardware Engineering Product Leader will lead various development teams from product concept, to product architecture, prototyping, and through to mass production.

This role will serve as the technical owner of a new product, as well as the technical representative of the development team to the rest of the company. You will guide, align and communicate team decisions, mitigate risks, and drive technical issues to resolution.

Responsibilities:

As a technical leader, you will be responsible for the development team bringing new products to market.
Foster a high performing cross-functional Product Development team through charismatic and energetic leadership.
Keep the team on track, which means ensuring they are developing the right product, within all the established program boundaries (features, cost, schedule, quality, etc.)
Responsible for regular reporting on the status of your program, and ensuring that the team is fully aligned with the current direction and goals.

Qualifications:

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education
10+ years of experience in consumer hardware product development
Demonstrated success leading multi-disciplinary technical development teams
Experience driving products into high-volume mass production with Asian contract manufacturers
Deep knowledge of hardware development best practices in two or more of the following areas: (Digital and analog electronics, radio and antenna design, mechanical engineering, transducer and acoustic system engineering, embedded firmware development, video processing, and industrial design).
Willingness to travel within the US and Asia (sometimes with little notice) based on need in the product development cycle.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
