This exciting Bay Area Robotics Start-up is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to own the entire robotics perception ranging from sensor selection, interfacing, calibration, and integration with mobile robot. This will include sensor data processing and perception algorithms. This role will have the following responsibilities:
- Creating and developing 2D/3D camera modeling, characterization and calibration.
- Creating and developing Lidar sensing modeling characterization and calibration.
- Creating and developing 2D image processing algorithms/libraries (OpenCV), and 3D sensor processing algorithms/libraries (PCL).
Qualifications:
- PhD/MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field, and 5+ years of experience in the robotics or automation industry.
- Solid computer science fundamentals.
- Solid C/C++, Python coding experience.
- Solid 2D image processing experience; and 3D sensor processing experience.
- Multi-view geometry camera system experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ML/DL image classification/recognition models (YOLO, RCNN).
- Indoor mobile robot development experience.
